Thinking this season of downsizeing to a 10 ft #6 for my nymph/buzzer/dry fly fishing.Have fished a 10ft gordon #7 for years now but have a lust for something a bit newer.I fish mainly the big midlands reservoirs from both bank and boat and was looking for opinions as to whether a #6 would be sufficient to tackle these big waters.I have seen the original x-flite #6 at a good price and was wondering if anyone had experience of this rod and its suitability for my needs.

I use a 10 ft 5 weight for dries, nymphs wets and lures. I've had no problems with big or small fish. Big or smallwater the rod should suit your style of fishing, the size of the loch, lough, or lake shouldn't affect your rod choice.
