I was thinking of making up some 'spools' from holesaw centers with a 3" MDF hub, and 6" hardboard sides.

I currently have allsorts of lines that came off sh reels that's wrapped around old washing up bottles etc?

Is there something commercially available ?

Cheers for that. I'm a bit of a tightwad, if I can recycle something from junk in garage, that will sort of do the same job, I will.

All components ( bar the handle ) are courtesy of IKEA. The handle is a latt from a hardwood bed frame I traded with one of the tip blokes for a Barbie Princess Castle.

Ok, it's not a lamson litespeed, but it works!

Recycle an old push bike wheel, take the tyre off, pad and tape round the wheel, lightly wrap your fly line round it,this will give you large coils, hang the wheel up someplace.Job done.

I keep Pizza bases ( The poly ones) and cut notches in them and wind the line on to these,dont do it with real pizzas the cheese rots the line easker1
