Having not fished for a couple of years i was wondering what's the best rated fishery in Central Scotland these days ? , not just for fish catching but scenic value

You won't go far wrong with the Lake of Menteith. with Carron another cracker.North third is pretty scenic.and Linlithgow having it's own charm and stonking fish.

Newhaylie, for a small fishery it is brill, the views are fantastic, open all year round. Couple of miles from Largs, give it a try.

I have a wee review type section on my website that might help- it does not cover all those mentioned above and does cover a few not mentioned- it might help
the unfamous fly look up fishery reviews
I fished Carron and Linlithgow, and Bangour for the first time last season and think I enjoyed Carron the most of the three ( I only fished from the shore there though I have to say) - though I did best on Linlithgow (the weather on the day did not help!). But there are so many round here I have not got round them all- still want to get to Newhaylie, Tinto, Allandale Tarn, the new one up at Larbert, the country park over the back of Linlithgow........ I could go on!

Has to be The Newhailey, the views of the firth of the Clyde are stunning. It's such stunning beauty Robert Burns, couldn't put it in words. Give it a visit you wont be disappointed & the fish are top notch.
Alderneuk comes a close second, tucked away in some beautiful countryside.
