If you lads had a tight budget of say £60 ....what rod would you buy for rainbow trout fishing

Have a look at the airflo range. good value.a 10' for a 7# should be fine for throwing lures.

Go on eBay. Search for rods. Choose fishing, then fly fishing, new, buy it now, size 6, list in order of Price + P&P Lowest First and you will find rods from £9.99 + £4 P&P upwards...

Shakespeare Trion XT 10ft 6WT, from John Norris or Fulling Mill Gold 10ft 6wt from Tacklebargains, both £51 plus postage.

Both will do well, with the Trion maybe just ahead in response and a little more delicate but the Gold will also handle a 7wt line as well without any problems.

Thanks to all for replying , its only for occassional outings as I don't have time anymore to do all my hobbies but as usual i have sold most of my kit but now want a rod for when i feel like getting away for a few hours.
