Hi everyone, thanks to everyone for a grate forum. This place is the Wikipedia to fly fishing for sure.
So I'm new to the fly fishing world, fished for many years up in llyn padarn up north Wales which is a large lake full of trout, arctic char, eels and some twigs and sheep, getting kinda boring chucking a swim feeder in to the horizon as its not much of a challange but is very effective at catching lots of fish.
So I have decided to venture out from the lake and head to the rivers of gwyrfai.
What an expensive experiance it is, could spend less but we all know you get what you pay for and I like things to last but don't want to fork out too much cash.
So far, I am rounding up a decent first outfit for hopefully an all in one sort of set up
Greys xf2 streamflex plus 9ft6 #5
Leeda 5/6fly reel, with a rubbish airflo line to chuck about in the field.
Vision koma 5/6 reel
Greys grxi wf5f
Backing
1 Richard Whitley box of 230 assorted flies from fleebay which is alright
Plier things for hook removal
Flurocarbon
Preacher
Blade
Net
Flask
So I know I'm missing good boots and some waders and a jacket and possibly a fly vest but think a waterproof wading jacket looks better. I can't think of what I else I would need to get up and going, I'm organising some casting lessons at a fishery down Cardiff so that's sorted,
Any one else think of something Else i am missing?? Cheers guys,
