Default Fishing Wigtown/Newton stewart Area

Hi folks, another day, another question from me

Just wondering if anyone had any info/experience fishing in the Wigtown/Newton Stewart area.

I am going to be there in early March (before WBT season starts) so looking for a fishery that is open all year round, also looking for one that will allow bait/spinning for a young beginner friend.

Thanks in advance

SB

Hi

Don't know about one for bait or spinning but Alderneuk is quite close and is one of my favourite fisheries. Some Of the best fish around.

Cheers

Hi
Jonathan Haley has over 10 miles of river on Cree, Bladnoch, Palnure Burn etc. He lets cottages on his Mochram Park estate...check out his website. All details there. He used to throw in the fishing cheap if you stayed in one of his cottages early in the season. Bladnoch Hotel in Bladnoch does b&b and has a short srtech of the Bladnoch, a lot of pike in this stretch as well as salmon. Newton Stewart Angling assoc. has water on the Cree. Permits from Guns and Tackle in Newton Stewart.
