hi everyone,
does anyone still fish loch fitty, as i know all the fish got diseased.

Closed down in 2007 but there are plans for it.

used to fish it a lot , but once drained i don`t suppose it will ever be back.

The Idea was to drain,work the coal.then return to loch.

Last I heard was it is to be drained by the opencast company, worked for coal and refilled with the burns cleared for natural stocking of wild brownies; there is a huge development going on from the Gask road right to Lasodie and will evolve over the years. Some "structures" are already in place.

some guys still fish it for pike. i heard of a 14lber being caught not long before Christmas.

i know some guys fished it for the trout, but dont know if they still do...

most pike get deep hooked by the jimmies who fish it and end up dead.

who are the jimmies? i know a couple of pike anglers that fish the fitty and do so for the sport.
