Default Best lines for beginners. (please help)

Hi All,

Im looking to see what everyone thinks is the best fly lines for beginners to use on still water fishing.

I dont know to much about fly lines so all advice welcome, but if i can get a line that helps with the loading of the rod that would be great. I think if i could feel it loading more it would help with my timing.

The reason i ask is, i bought a airflo sixth sense and i think i feel it loading less than my cheap shakespeare.

Please help

Thanks

For starting out, get yourself a couple of mill ends/seconds from Mullarkeys, give them a good thrashing before stepping up.

Incidentally, what rod and rating are you using and what weight line?

Also, an hour or two qualified instruction can and will help a great deal.

Good advice from PP, try these.
Search: mill end lines › Page 1
Excellent VFM to start with, or the Mullarky ones.

I have a Aleka A3 10ft 8wt rod.

I have a couple Shakespeare 7/8 and a couple Airflo sixth sense 8/9 lines.

For some reason i feel the shakespeare loading better than the Airflo.

Hi Mark

Nice rod.

Airflo lines are really very good and you also have the correct line rating for that rod.

In fact, I would have thought those lines may over load rather than under.

Instead of possibly wasting money changing lines, I would honestly recommend maybe having an hour with a qualified instructor to assist with your technique and timing, promise you won't regret it.
