They are both good Lavo, the Vision GT#2/4 is a true LA, and very light, whereas the Marksman is more a mid arbor and now discontinued.
I have both, and they both suit different rods, but if weight is your thing, or lack of it, then the Vision is the best at 87grams.

yes i like a light reel, its for a 7ft 3 wt rod, the marksman is £100 on glasgow angling centre, i can get the visiont gt for £80 from a local tackle shop. just wanted views from someone whos used either reel and what they think of them. thank you for your time.

I match my Vision reel with my 7ft #3 Vision Cult rod, it's a match made in heaven, the Marksman is a wee bit too heavy on it.
In your shoes I would go for the GT#2/4, and at £80 it's GVFM.

Hi there you could also look at a Sonik Lite they might be a bit cheaper than both the Vision and the Marksman which said are both very good reels.
As you could guess I have a Sonik Lite and I find it very good balances well with a number of light line rods, and is slighgtly different in that the reel is wider than the majority of L.A. reels.
One other thing is, its a click only reel with rim drag applied by the hand.

As regards price some tackle retailers are offering them cheaper?

The Vision is a lovely light reel, but does have a very pronounced check, doesn't bother me, but it may niggle some.
The Marksman is slightly heavier, but is better in my opinion.
Both are great value at present at their respective prices and either will suit a 7' 3 wt perfectly.

How about throwing a Danielsson midge/nymph into the equation. Excellent reels and are very light. (The midge weighs 78grams)

Get SKB's - I just sold one that I won (as I never use anything less than a 7 weight) but it was a beaut.

Hi Ade, I adjusted my clicker, it's easy enough to do, and it's made it much more subtle.

And yes, I use one of Bens #4/5 reels, never had a moments problem, and smooth as silk.
I quite fancied that red one Charlie, I hesitated mate, I really did.
