hi guys have the chance to get some pheasant pelts are they worth getting can you use most feathers

Are they treated or ar you going to have to do that yourself.2nd choice is a pain,

You can use almost all the feathers on a Pheasant pelt, but if its not treated as mentioned it can be a pain! Is it a cock pheasant? If so I would take it just for the tail feathers.

Take the tail,and any good breast feathers and maybe the wings(hang the wings up to dry in a shed/garage) .throw the rest away.It's a whole new ballgame when you start having to treat skins.IMHO.

How are you fixed at plucking? I did this with some guinea fowl 30 years ago, still got some of the feathers.
