I wouldn't suggest leaving it any longer seeing as Scott (Clydestyle) himself has commented on a Clyde thread to Hackney Gav that he "used to run a fishing shop".
Scott's downfall was making enemies of and barring his best customers.
Scott's shop was also tucked out of the main stem right on the banks of the Clyde, but that didn't make much difference to a shop which was heavily over stocked with coarse fishing tackle with very little salmon flies on sale.
Scott may have faired better had he actually gone to his suppliers and sourced the bread and butter game fishing supplies he was asked for by his loyal clientèle, but when it was taking over 5 weeks and still no sign of a couple of bucktails, I and others got fed up and went elsewhere.
Scott then scored another huge own goal by going on line and vociferously complaining that local anglers purchasing £5.99 neoprene gloves from ALDI were putting him out of business, and chased yet more customers away.
Scott also made arrangements with local anglers bringing visiting anglers to the area to be in his store by opening time to supply tackle and permits, but he frequently never bothered turning up to open the shop.
Scott also made the fatal decision to openly criticise his customers on line and even stated how certain customers got special deals when in fact the same deal was openly advertised to all customers old and new.
it was only a matter of time before Clydestyle went under as no matter what, he would just not listen to his customers and openly criticised them.
