Default Clydestyle Fishing

Anyone know what's happened to the above? I've been trying to chase up an order made before Christmas, and had no replies to emails and phone calls.

Placed an order in the Autumn and received after a few days. Have spoken to Clydestyle and seems like a decent guy. Suggest that you leave it a bit longer as maybe very popular with orders

I wouldn't suggest leaving it any longer seeing as Scott (Clydestyle) himself has commented on a Clyde thread to Hackney Gav that he "used to run a fishing shop".

Scott's downfall was making enemies of and barring his best customers.

Scott's shop was also tucked out of the main stem right on the banks of the Clyde, but that didn't make much difference to a shop which was heavily over stocked with coarse fishing tackle with very little salmon flies on sale.

Scott may have faired better had he actually gone to his suppliers and sourced the bread and butter game fishing supplies he was asked for by his loyal clientèle, but when it was taking over 5 weeks and still no sign of a couple of bucktails, I and others got fed up and went elsewhere.

Scott then scored another huge own goal by going on line and vociferously complaining that local anglers purchasing £5.99 neoprene gloves from ALDI were putting him out of business, and chased yet more customers away.

Scott also made arrangements with local anglers bringing visiting anglers to the area to be in his store by opening time to supply tackle and permits, but he frequently never bothered turning up to open the shop.

Scott also made the fatal decision to openly criticise his customers on line and even stated how certain customers got special deals when in fact the same deal was openly advertised to all customers old and new.

it was only a matter of time before Clydestyle went under as no matter what, he would just not listen to his customers and openly criticised them.

Fair enough on the quotes but you are attempting to give the impression of him not trading anymore.
You seem personally aggreived by this, yet no accusation has been directly made about him on this thread, but by you.

I you read my post again Graham you will see that I never said it looks like he has gone into receivership. I said it looks (from Scott's own post to Hackney Gav on this forum from yesterday) like Clydestyle has ceased trading.

You then say you have never met the guy nor been in his shop, so you will not have been handed a print out of internet conversations written by his ex customers. You will not be aware of the written abuse and threats he has sent ex customers. You will not be aware the one forum member had to send Scott a lawyer's letter to get him to stop telling everyone who entered his shop that the man (on this forum, and very well respected chap) had threatened him and his family with violence.

Only I know that you are a member of another forum where all this was played out, so you must be aware of all this having gone on.

Really Graham, I mean really?

By Scott's own admission, on this forum yesterday, he has ceased trading.

I think the OP has intimated that emails and phone calls have gone unanswered.

It's hardly reading between the lines, don't you think?

Ceased trading ... unfulfilled orders ... unanswered calls and emails = bumped!!

If you are refering to the Clyde forum you will see that I have not been on there for some time and was only an odd visitor.
If you are correct in what you are saying then fair enough, I just felt it was one hell of an attack based on one of our members asking for a little bit of info. No doubt he is now thinking he has had his chips as far as this is concerned.
I will leave this at that as I feel it will rapidly go flying down hill into the pits of despair before to long.

Fair does Graham, but I feel the OP was making more than just a general enquiry. I draw this conclusion as it being more than just a coincidence that this post came a day after Scott's post on the same forum. I'm hazarding an educated guess is that the OP has read the thread where Scott admits to "used to own a fishing tackle shop" and has then started this thread to find out more.

Anyway, think about it. Scott's on boasting about how he fell out his pram into the Clyde with a fishing rod, owned a fishing tackle store, on line, whilst he has on line customers still waiting for goods.

So his computer is working and his broadband connection is working. So there's no excuse for the un-replied to emails, and unanswered telephone calls.

It's two fingers to his bumped customers, isn't it?

With regards to name and shame threads, there is one running on this forum asking for details of those companies you have had a bad service from. Perhaps you only log into this forum rarely (as with the Clyde forum) and have missed that thread too mate?

When I started this thread I knew nothing about a previous post, and what I am learning now is worrying.Mine was only a small order, but that's not the point.Any other disgruntled people please p.m me, and I would also be grateful for any information regarding Scott.
Thanks.
