Default Draycote Opening Date

Ifor

If you are on line - is there any update on the Draycote opening day as yet ?

Also a a general question can anybody recommend a good book on Reservoir Fly Fishing ? I am presently reading Mick O'Farrell's ' A passion For Trout' and I hope to be using the tactics he describes in the new season but could also do with more reading material as if I have learned one thing from this Fly Fishing hobby it is that you will neve know enough.

Thanks all

Paul

Don't know the opening date but "Trout from a Boat" by Dennis Moss is thought to be good and "The Loch Fishers Bible" by Stan Headley is not to be missed.

Yes "Trout From A Boat" by Dennis Moss is very good.

Incidentally I enjoyed reading his second book "Irish Rise" over Christmas, less instructional than the first and left me dreaming of fishing in Ireland. I'll have to convince the other half that we should take a holiday there and sneak in the fly gear

An old book but a good 'un: Still Water Fly Fishing by T C Ivens. Interesting in relation to Draycote and other midlands ressies as it describes the sunk line boat tactics, particularly "Northampton Style", which they developed in the 50s/60s to target the bigger fish and which are still very effective on Draycote.

We are aiming to open early March.

I will be posting full details in the next week or two with details on when the lodge will be open for bookings.

We are looking to improve on the fish limits available & are therefore looking at offering next year a 1 Fish permit an improved 4 Fish Permit (3 fish in 2011) & increasing the 6 fish permit to an 8 Fish.

All details will be posted soon.

Thanks. I'll be mainly on rivers this year again, but my Draycote buddy will no doubt be back for more, especially if its back up to 8 for same price.
