Default Novice tackle advice

Is this a good deal and set up , its the size and weight my instructer advised me to get .

eBay - The UK's Online Marketplace

My local shop is Walkers of Trowell and although i understand it would be good to try out etc could i expect to get e similar deal .

Sorry to seem tight but in middle of house move etc at the moment and can't afford to over do it .

Any advice welcome

Thanks Steve

challenge them to offer a similar deal, it sounds a bit rude but your being honest about offering them the custom,
and you should trust your instructor, he has a better idea of what your going to be doing with it more than anyone hereabouts i would think.

This is not being tight at all - we all have different budgets to work too and a house move is both a trying and costly time.

This is a perfectly decent outfit and both the rod and reel are decent pieces indeed and will see you well into your fly fishing adventures.

One assumes this is for smallwater fishing?

You will also find a wealth of both help and information on here as all you have to do is ask.

Any further lines can be obtained on here from a few retailers with the Pitsford Pirate lines always receiving glowing reviews.

Best of luck and we hope to hear of your success!

Benjamin

SK, why don't you/trade members here put together beginners outfits, right down to decent leaders, we could test em, tweak and recommend..

Yes it would be for a beginer on small stillwater hoping to move to small rivers in the future .

As a beginer would i really be able to tell the difference from rod to rod when trying at a shop or would i just confuse myself even more ???

Seem to remember walkers had a casting pool out back. If they can do a similar deal you should be able to try before you buy assuming its still there.

it is confusing, but thats what learning is, a well balanced outfit is easy to spot, its the one that makes it feel easier, simple

Am i looking at it to simplisticaly to assume that a rod and reel of a similar price from the same manufacturer would have been produced with the intention of partnering each other ?

When I tried my first rods, some felt better than others, at the time I couldn't tell you why or what was different but some just felt "better".
