Default Looking for Fishing/Camping trip buddy(s) - Austria/Germany Alps

Hi Guys,

At the end of January, regardless if anyone is willing to come or not, im going to be booking a flight to Innsbruck in Austria and spending 5 days touring the Austrian/German border fly fishing and camping for the 5 nights.

I thought id post this here, to see if any of your thrill seeking fishers would like to join me? The return flight and luggage is around £100. bargain! You would need;

35+ Litre Rucksack
1 Man tent
Sleeping bag
Rod(s) + Gear
Money for supplies/grub
Knife
Torch
and basically all the other camping stuff you'd need. This isnt a 'suitcase' holiday, this is backpacking and hiking gear!

Ive planned to stop at 3 lakes, 1 in Austria, 2 in Germany. All separated equally by an hour apart which can be accessed by buses. All these lakes are re-nowned for thier clear blue waters, huge snowy mountains and the scenery is outstanding. Google these lakes,

This is the trip map; the names on the letters are the names of the Lakes.

Am really hoping someone will tag along, this wont be a fishing trip you will be forgetting too early.

It won't be a fishing trip you'll forget in a while. Is that not what Ted Bundy used to say, lol.
Hope you have a great trip & tight lines.

Did you know that you have to have licence to fish in Germany, not sure about Austria.that might invovle you sending your rod licence(or possibly a photocopy) to germany to get a fishing permit.??

Jim, you are always doom and gloom, let him have a wee bit longer with the excitement, then hit him with the doom and gloom stuff. Are you doing much twitching?
Billy.

Hi Billy.will be going out twitching tomorow depending on the wind which seems to be picking up rapidly, have not managed any grayling fishing yet because of the high rivers/high winds. but might manage next week.Disapointed that I have not seen any Waxwings so far this season.hope you are well.

Hi

Shame i didnt see this post earlier. I was actually born in that area and know the lakes well. They are only a short distance from where my dad lives.

How did you get on? I heard they had big snow so i fear the lakes may have been frozen.

Cheers

Andreas
