I replaced a broken tip on my 7# Greys X Flite earlier this year & although the rod has a 25 year guarentee reluctantly had to pay £44.00 to Greys for "handling & packaging"!!!!! Complete rip off in my view but had to proceed as I could not source a second hand tip. With the GRXI, as its a bit older, you might be better off trying to find a used one but get a costing off Greys first. Hope this helps.

Hi Rubahook

Check with Greys first to see if they are still supplying spares for the GRXI . They turned me down two weeks ago when I wanted spares for a Greyflex and a Platinum X.

Do they replace the rod with one from a similar current range if there is no spares?

They offered me a Greys XF2 at half the retail price. I'm not sure that this a good deal. I just wanted to repair my existing rods.

Greys were recently able to replace a tip section for a G-Tec travel rod over the phone. I would give them a call first and see what they might be able to do for you.
