Hi

If you haven,t got a tube for the rod,go into your nearest carpet/floor supplier and ask them have they any empty trims tube and ask for the most wide 1 they have, these are normally 8 feet so you can cut them to size and please recycle the rest as it is cardboard, they might even have the stoppers for the ends of the tubes, ask for these too,for the top and bottom of your parcel, tape well each end... write the name, addy and write fragile a few times on it (if nothing else this looks well)
Pop into your local post office and send recorded delivery..

Away goes your rod,securely..!! hopefully..

Hope this helps

David

PS,carpet grippers and wooden floor edging,s come in the "trims tubes"

Via the PO, it depends on the length. Over 60cm it has to go ParcelForce officially unless your PO is good and lets it go. I did a 9ft 4 piece recently, proper tube, for about £12.

I have used Parcel2go frequently and found their prices as good as any. Furthermore they collect from your home and it can be tracked.

Boet! Certain lengths can go 1st Class airmail or Parcel Force to ROI.

If you are trying to save the pennies then use one of the online companies as above.

I just sent a 2 piece rod to my Wife's God Daughter for Christmas....£11!!

Would have been cheaper to drive it over to her 15miles away
