Default Studs!

Hi

A mate of mine has a pair of Greys G-series waders, rubber soled. He's moving into some tricky rivers soon and needs a solid underfoot. Can anyone recommend a stud set and, most importantly, say whether the particular wader model is appropriate for studding?

Many thanks
Ant

supatrack studs for very slippery conditions

blurb..................

Best-Grip screw in boot studs - ideal for work boots, sports boots and waders.

Unlike modified or simple self-tapping screws like Snowbee, Airflo, Talon, Icespike or even Simms Hardbite; Best-Grip studs are designed from the outset for the application. Wide, shallow-angled screw threads provide maximum grip. Recessed drive slots allow easy installation and removal even when eventually the stud is worn down. (A major advantage over simple hexagonal or slotted self tapping screws). The tungsten cored stud provides unbelievable durability.

Be careful putting studs into waders or wading boots as they may come through the sole!
I had this problem a couple of years ago, i wasnt very pleased when i entered the water only to have wet soggy cold feet!

But they didnt go through at the start it was only after i had worm them for a few times as the weight of my body pushed them into the wader material

+1 here with CF. I use the aluminum self tapping ones either as initial installation or for replacement. IF, and that's a minor if, they don't hold tight at installation, back them out and put a dab of good water proof glue in the hole and screw back in. Once the glue sets, the stud isn't going anywhere.

Rubber wellies are not the best bet for fitting studs.''DO NOT FIT TO THE SOLE AREA ,OR YOU COULD END UP WITH PUNCTURED FEET''
If you are going to fit them ,round the edge of the heel is best.
Studs in waders/wellies are really bad for use in boats.
