Default Perfection Loop or Surgeons Loop

Been using the Perfection Loop for connecting leader to braided loop and until recently was working ok but have started having it break on me at the loop when snagged on river bottom or up the infamous fish tree Mostly using Drennan sub surface 3 or 4lb.
Was wondering if the Surgeon Loop is stronger than the Prefection ?

Default

I invariably use the Surgeon's Loop when I'm prospecting with wet flies/ nymphs, and using a loop-to-loop connection.

I don't see what advantages a Perfection Loop offers for that sort of fishing (yes, I know it's "in line").
