Default why buy this??????

Just looking through the whats new for 2012 which came with total flyfisher this month and i got to the new cortland line page were they are selling "the cortland competition nymph line".I am not a master at czech nymphing but know the basics, correct me if i am wrong but the whole idea of czech nymphing is that you dont have any line on the water and very little outside the tip ring, correct? So why do i need YET ANOTHER line which to all intense and purposes i will not technically be useing when i use the czech nymph method? I just dont get it!

that's right. the problem is you'll get all these tackle tarts that have to have it as though it's the next big thing. i'm quite happy for my mill end jobbies to do this job

Hi Horses, I don't read TFF, but is the Nymph line advertised as a czech nymph line, or just a nymph line?
I know when I am upstream nymphing I have quite a bit of line out.

Hi Steven,i have the article in front of me.It states"a perfect line for french, spanish, czech and high sticking where the fly line is held of the water".I just feel that it must be very bewildering for new comers when they read things like that, like a previous post has said why pay quite a hefty price for a line when a mill end will do the same job.As i said earlier i do not use any of these methods on a regular basis but i know the basics.

Thanks allen the only advantage i can see from the short vid is that the front end is thin so you would not get the belly effect that you would get with a dt or wf line.Dont know the price of it but whatever it is i dont think i will be buying one plus the fact you only get half a line only 45ft

The idea's good but it's a specialized product for those who can afford it.

I think it sounds like a good idea, but until I have tried it I would not be willing to comment on its effectiveness. One of the ways I see it being a good idea is in competitions that require a fly line to be used. It may also help people who struggle to cast the long leaders used in French or Leader to Hand styles of nymphing. I will let you know when I have tried one

Also concerning the length, I think for a river and this style of fishing 45 feet of fly line will be more than adequate.

Just my opinion.
