Was just looking around the web for a bag for the g/son, a stocking filler.
Im shocked at some of the prices out there look at this.

I was thinking a tenner would cover a small bag for him but with postage Im going to be lucky to get away with £20.

Oh and can someone come up with a genuine reason why that Hardy bag is that price? except for the name.

Have a look at the Camera and camcorder bags much more reasonable and a great for fishing tackle, 110647035289, 130498081739, 110794202351, 160617545339, 310361277055 and 360364588495 (there's loads on there). You should be able to find something that fits the bill (you may have to stretch that tenner though)

you'll find a great canvas short session bag on ebay that has a main cavity plus side pockets for a fiver. I also use a snowbee small trout bag that although not very water proof(silicone sealant spray helps), does have front pockets, priest pocket and internal mesh and main cavity pockets; this is my go to day bag as it is small light weight and tough and it cost about 30 squid

Buy him an heirloom such as a Brady Ariel Trout bag. The list price is about £134! But you can get them for about £120. Mine has lasted 42 years and there is another 10 left in it yet. Call it 50 years. Even at the top price it works out at only £2.68 a year. It will be a precious thing to him throughout its life. Now because you bought him the best that money could buy and in 50 years time because it will remind him of you.

Good try Richard, but for the life of me I cant except paying that for a bag.
Its like I cant see why ladies spend 100's on a Gucci handbag.
And as its for an 8 year old, just to fill a space in his sack its not going to happen.

I agree Hardy and Brady bags are expensive but they are an excellent long term investment and if taken care of, will give a lifetime's service.
I had one for years until it was stolen along with all my other kit.

This year, I had to renew all of my kit and the one thing I ensured was a good game bag in which to transport my kit...luckily I picked up a mint conditioned used 'Liddlesdale' bag at a bargain price from one of the forum members and it was probably the best purchase I made and expect it to see me out if I take reasonable care of it!

If it's a stocking filler that you want then something along the lines of the following will probably suffice... it just so happens that I'm thinking of getting my grandson one as a stocking filler too
