Default Airflo 40+ Di7

I'm interested in getting an Airflo 40+ Di7 to complete the stable of lines for my 7wt set up (I have one of the Pirates intermediates, a mill end floater, a Daiwa Lochmor slow sinker). I seem to remember reading on here that there was one particular one to avoid (I have run a search but it's told me 'no matches' and then said I was an 'invalid user'). When looking at the selection of lines Airflo are selling they seem to have quite an array, is there one I should definitely avoid?

The heads used to split from the running line on the expert old model. The new ones are fine now though.

Thank you both for your quick replies, that's the problem I was searching for. I should be ok with a 2010 model in that case

It was one of either of these I was thinking of getting

Airflo Sixth 6th Sense
Airflo 40+ expert
Airflo Polyfuse XT Forty Plus

whoops I've just realised that one of those is the expert (doesn't give a date), scratch that one then

Both on auction at Ebay

I've now done an external search and this forum came up on google with generally good reviews of the sixth sense sinking lines so I think that's the one i'll be bidding on

Regarding the search feature Gizmo, there's a google search box on the bottom of every thread page here, far better than the Fly Forums 'Search' on the blue bar above.

I can state that the older model of the Airflo 40+ Di7 (Expert i think) was a disaster. I personally seen 4 break up within 2-5 hrs of heavy use, (casting pike flies). I expect that the same would be the case with the 7 weights.

I still use mine, but i have a rough knot joint holding them together. When i can afford the new model i will buy it as they are a class line other than the fact that they fall apart at the joint...

I can fire my 8 inch pike flies/parrots 35 metres all day long with my 10 weight (60euro shakespeare rod, not a sage/orvis/hardy/loomis).
I know i couldn't do that with the sixth sense. Its all about the running line.. Great idea if they can build it right..

Just my 2c worth....

Cheers
JJ

Cheers for the replies lads. I have noticed that the search feature on here can be a bit mystifying Google's much better. I think I'll have a go at the Sixth Sense auction
