I made one earlier in the year - and lost it last month while packing up
Wooden net
Anyhow, its an excuse to make a new one after xmas
You wont go far wrong following joelwoodworks advice, but theres planty of advice on the web, just pick out the bits you want to apply. The main thing I found was to make sure you select wood for the bow that will steam bend - lots dont! I used white oak and black walnut which both bent quite well. I didnt try to make a hoop to fit the net bag, I made a net bag to fit the finished hoop. The other thing tt watch is, you get literally seconds to bend the wood once you get it out of the steamer. I would also be prepared to make a 'prototype' for finding out what goes wrong etc and practiing on before making the finished article - trust me, you will need to F$$k about with it a lot and spoil it and learn from your mistakes. Next one I make i'll photograph the process.
