Default Isle of Wight

I'm off to the Isle of Wight in April. Any places on the island to visit or see when I'm over there?? Is the any good fishing (not sea) on rivers/lakes? I'm staying just outside Shanklin. If there is any good fisheries can you put the name of the fishery and location.

Thanks,

Hunter_Gillard

Some of the biggest mullet I have ever seen feed in the mill pond at St Helens. Just up the road from you. Have a look at 50 41 42.88 N 1 06 19.2 W on google earth. If you stand at the gap in the mill pond wall at high tide and wait unti the tide starts to drop you will see them swimming out and back into the harbour. Now catching them is quite a different matter.....................birdsnest

Me and dad fly fished here for the day in 2010, and I must say it was one of the best days fishing ever!!! considering the trout lake is only about 1 acre, but the local corse fishermen told us its hardly fished, the result was an abundance of very hard fighting rainbows, we found a white lure like a humungus caused havoc, both me and dad were knackered at the end of the day........well worth a visit
