Default Snowbee XS - fragile?

Just a quicky, I'm going to get a quality floating line for my 6wt setup and am considering the Snowbee XS. Is it still the case that they're a fragile line and wear rather quickly? If they only last a season or two perhaps I'd be better off buying a Cortland or Rio, I'm currently using a Cortland 333 which has performed well but has been dragged across gravel, stones and has been stepped on so many times you'd think I've been Morris dancing on it

hi the snowbee xs is a fantastic line especially for river work. it is true they arent as hard wearing as a rio but in the same vane they are nearly half as cheap. i change my floater every year anyway so if it lasts that long im happy. The other option is the greys platinum which is a fine line also

It's no worse than any other of similar quality, mate. It should be a nice line for the river

I have the XS in a 7#, great line. gone through 2 Rio Golds 6# and a Greys Platinum 6#. This is down top the banking where I fish, large sharp edge stones.
I now have a cheapo (Airflow made) but it doesn't cast anywhere near as well, line memory and full of lumps and bumps but it'll do for a £10.

have you tried Mullarkeys mill ends, I bought a 7wt WF floater for £3.99 + p&p (the 7wt rod is mainly for inters and sinkers but it never hurts to keep your options open) and what a great line it is. I personally can't see any faults with it and it shoots like a greased rat out of a drainpipe

Just an update, the chap I was buying the Snowbee from (at a very good price) didn't have any in the weight I wanted so I went for one of Mike Barrios GT140 fly lines
