Default Snapped my fly rod!

I snapped my fly rod a few months ago.(Guideline AWM 9ft 6#)
It has snapped about 1" off the top, so just the top ring.
The end ring is to small, tryed sanding the rod to the right size but did'nt work!
There are loads of fly rod rings on ebay but I need to measure the tip of the rod. How can I?? A measuring tape is to big.

Measure it with a micrometer. Any small engineering firm, tool shop or possibly a garage, will have one and take a measurement for you. You can get a replacement from Tom Saville of Nottingham. They also sell hot-melt glue to glue the new tip ring on. Don't sand it down.

Don't let this problem fox you. Keep hunting for a solution before you pack it in. Hound your local tackle shops.

.
Don't be confused .... just be more bl**dy careful! If you're going to go around, chopping the top inch off your rod you must expect to be faced with problems ... it's not confusing, it's simple ... don't do it.

Your rod was designed to be a 9ft, 6wt not an 8ft 11", 6 wt ... buy a new one and be more careful.

S**t happens unfortunately I'm sure an inch missing off the rod doesn't consign it to the scrap heap, get yourself to a few shops and let them have a look or as previously mentioned measure with a micrometer and then phone around for a ring to fit it.

Hi There,

Just take the rod into your local tackle shop and they will fit a new top eye for about £2.50.

Best Regards

robbie
