Default Tavistock trout fishery

Well took the plunge and decided to visit Tavistock trout fishery, travelled for 3 hours to get there with a mad fishing mate...not a good start..So arrived fine and had chat with locals who are really friendly and gave up any info we needed..went for a 5 fish ticket for £30 ..good price..Fished all 5 lakes and took a fish from each, really nice fishery with several differant size lakes from large to small so plenty to keep you thinking..Stocked with rainbow and brown trout..Stocking they say is from 1 1/2lb to doubles. The fish we caught were all about 2lb but did see a double come out.. Good day but would have liked to get a large one, but that the luck of the draw..locals said that there is a double in each of the lakes..So generally a really nice venue but do'nt expect to catch large trout but you might get lucky, but then it 's only £30 for 5 fish.. stocking good with plenty 2lb fish so not the most challenging water..would not travell for 3 hours untill it becomes a big fish water again.. then it would be something special .. And having to listen to my fishing mate for drive home nearly sent me to sleep..They say every village has one.. i take ours fishing..
