I got my supply of DVDs soughted (thanks lovefilm). But what are good books for beginners to intermediates just fishing not tying flies please.

A lot of people seem to like
"Trout Hunting: the Pursuit of Happiness" by Bob Wyatt.

Not read it myself.

Depends on what type of fishing you plan on doing. If you fish small stillwaters then Peter Cockwill's "Trout from small stillwaters" is worth a look.
For something a bit more technical try John Goddards "Trout Fishing Techniques"
Another great read, and still full of useful ideas is Brian Clarke's "The pursuit of stillwater trout"
