Default "The Adventurer's Guide to Britain"

Anybody watch it tonight? very interesting, well for any Eden fishers anyway.
The presenter was fishing with Jeremy Lucas on the higher Eden, on the Appleby AA stretch.
It's a favourite beat of mine, and one where I spend a lot of my time.
It seemed strange to see them fishing in MY pools, wading in shorts and bare legs, it must have been filmed a while back, and it was raining all day.
They managed one small wildie in the bridge pool.
After that the presenters made the trek up to Angle Tarn on Place Fell, parking up in the car park at the White Lion Hotel, my home for a good number of years, and another of my old haunts, I fished it once a week as a much younger man, but haven't ventured up there for many years now.
Seeing it tonight made me promise myself to make the effort next season, and to fish it again, while I am still able to.
Great programme, really enjoyed it.
S.

Missed it tonight Steven, wish i'd seen it. Beautiful part of the country. Is that the same pool you directed myself & Paul to?

Wish I'd known it was on. I've never fished Angle Tarn but used to pass it often enough when out with the Ullswater - in the days before they destroyed a way of life.
Lovely spot, happy days.

Good lord no Colin, I wouldn't show you the best bits.
May have been Col, but I think I would have directed you to the Bolton beat as it was nearer to where you were staying.
See if you can watch it, it must be repeated somewhere, if it was the BBC it would be repeated again next week.

Nah, didn't even know about it Eddie until the wife spotted it five minutes before it started.
I serve on the committee with Jeremy Lucas in my local angling club though.
Some would say that's a claim to fame, but plenty might say it's not.
He only lives a few miles up the valley from me.
