Thumbs up Shock em with Pink !

Hi Guys

Since the Brown trout season closed ive switched back to stocked rainbows to get my weekly fishing fix.

A number of times recently when no one was catching and the fish just didnt seem interested having ignored all manner of popular lures in the popular colours orange, yellow, black, white, etc

A humble "pink" Nomad has saved the day It took 3 or my 5 fish on sunday in near hurricane force winds

Fished on a floating line, 12'-14' leader with two nymphs fig 8 retrieve "very" "very" slow

Anyone else been doing well with "pink" when nothing else seems to be working lately ?

When sight nymphing for rainbows I often use a pink or peach shrimp. Two weeks ago I got five of nine on a weighted peach shrimp of my tying. Brook trout also seem to love pink for some reason.

Take care

I was also out in the gales last Sunday and both my fish came to my "No Fuscia" Booby. Subtle it is not, but it's visible at depth in the peaty waters. Didn't get a tap on Dawson's and Cats.

If I'm fishing a Cats and they don't want or lose interest in a green and black, and green and white - then the next combo on my list is pink and white.

Like Chelsea a Pinkie is a good change from red or olive Apps. I seem to remember somewhere, Stillwater Angler recommending a Pinkie for gin clear water in winter.

Done very well on a number of waters, both spring and winter, with a small pheasant tail tied with a metallic pink tungsten bead. Definately a colour that gets a positive response on dour days, devastating on good days!
