Default what do you do in the winter?

Guys
For me the month of November means the end of trout fishing and start of 'picking up' on the local shoots.
Add in the wife's list of outstanding D.I.Y and some fly tying and soon its time to go fishing again.

What to you do to pass the winter??

I still carry on fishing, though not for trout and not with the fly. Hoping to get some grayling fishing done with the fly for a change. I also like walking during the winter months. Then the fly tying and diy jobs.

I carry on fly fishing for trout. Some of the best fishing of the year is in the winter in the smaller, spring and river-fed lakes in the South- and you can use an imitative approach a lot of the time. After all, in comparison to conditions in their Rocky Mountains home, rainbows are going to find anything a UK winter throws at them a walk in the park.

And a bit of long trotting for grayling as well.

I still fish for trout, I'm fortunate enough to have a few lakes nearby that are open all year, weather does not put me off

A fair bit of tying and of course my other passion, Golf

I do what I usually do when not out fishing-tie flies or do some oil or watercolour painting in a nice warm place-hoping someone may be kind enough to take me out to try for grayling for the first time. I,ll also be visiting my local canal to see if the pike are hungry-flies first and deadbiat if that doesn,t tempt them.

I`ll be spending the Winter after the Welsh Ladies (Thymallus thymallus) and looking for some alternative treatments for Chilblains

Work goes crazy for me from october till March. But the rods normally stay dry over the winter period and the ferreting and lamping takes over as and when i can get out.

Between New Year and February/March, no fishing at all. Allowing me the opportunity to pursue my other passion...curb crawling.

Seriously, I use the time to stoke and fuel the passion, leaving me chomping at the bit for the off.
