Default week/area tickets Scotland?

My friend and I went to Assynt in Scotland last year to fish for trout, and the best thing was, we could get a ticket for £30 for a week's fishing for the entire area. This saved a lot of hassle getting day tickets.
We're looking to go to Scotland this coming spring, but fancied trying somewhere different.
Anyone know of regions/areas which do similar tickets?

PS, we've seen a similar ticket in Oban, but wonder whether it will not be quite as wild there as we'd like it.

Thanks in advance

Phil

Hi I would stick with the Assynt ticket at £30.00 you can't beat it.
The only thing wild about Oban is the prices in the pubs.
I fish in Sutherland every season and if you are prepared to walk a bit accross the moors to some of the more remote lochs then the fishing can be very rewarding.
The area as you will know is an anglers paradise you just have to find that special loch or lochs and then the golden rule is so easy.
Keep the location as secret as your pin number.

Walk long and fish longer.
Tight lines for 2012

Plenty of lochs to fish around Oban, particularly if you are willing to do a bit of hiking into the hills. We very rarely come across anyone else when fishing in this area, well worth the permit money. Some of the lochs are difficult to find, so, take great care when searching.
Billy.

Thanks for the replies, chaps.

So I'm guessing you can still find solitude out in the wilds. What's it like in the towns? Is it a tourist mecca?

Oban, good pubs with music etc, good prices if you are worried about costs in certain pubs, if you are single you will have a ball at the weekends, brilliant fish suppers, well worth paying that wee bit extra, get lost in the wilds mid-week hunting the wild brownies, then at the weekend, well, as they say,"anything goes." Wish I was a hundred years younger! Give it a go.
Billy.

You can get weekly tickets on Islay. A couple of different estates and one association all do them.

I reckon the Islay Estates ticket for the north of the island is the best value, they are all around £30, but apart from the well known lochs there are plenty of lesser know lochs in the wilds to explore...

Lochs are not as numerous and the landscape is a bit gentler than Assynt, the troots also tend to be a bit bigger
