last day of the season
The kennick boys got together for a days pleasure fishing, then they are off for a meal this evening. I couldnt make it for the meal, but managed to drag myself out of bed early to finish some work so i could have an hour and half fishing.
On arrival, Bills warm mulled wine hit the nostels as soon as you entered the club, and warmed your body on its travels down your throat lol. The weather was blue skies and blowing a hooley, not the best conditions on kennick. I walked up one side casting here and there and only had one take, so crossed the cause way, and then fished where laployd meets the narrows and soon started having knocks on a small damsel. I dont think i have taken a brown off kennick through the whole season, then today had two bueties of about a pound and a half and another a little bigger. Both fantastic condition and released without even leaving the water. I then walked down to clampetts for a cast or two, before tje time hit 12 and i had to leave. I dont know how the others got on, i dont think there wss much happening today.
Thanks to all the guys at kennick its been a great year for me and hope to get involed more next year. The organised away days are great fishing and a hoot to boot. See you all at the fly tying evenings and hopefully lechlade in the spring.
