Default McLean net

For reasons best known to myself I left my McLean telescopic landing net outside in the rain for over a week and surprise, surprise it's seized up I was going to assault it with the cure for all known ills WD40, but then thought I'd be a good boy and ask for ideas, just in case the said wonderfluid kills fish even if they only think they've smelt it

The worst bit is the brass bar in the neck that locks the net in place, at one point the kids were asking whether they needed to fetch the defibrillator when they saw me nearly rupturing myself unlocking it

As far as I am aware, WD40 is harmless, so go ahead.
