Default Casting with the other hand .......

I have been having a lot of problems casting in adverse wind conditions and have seen other anglers standing with their back to water and casting. I have tried that but as you can see I have been having some problems.

I am a bit cack handed at the best of times but I think learning to cast with my other hand is the way to go.

Can anyone make some useful suggestions as to the best way to get it right with my left hand ?

Casting into the wind with your other hand won't make any difference, try slowing down the back cast and lowering the rod stop when casting forward to keep the loop as low to the water as possible. Jon

I'm guessing you mean the winds blowing into your casting side,if so you don't need to change hands just cast over your other shoulder

The reverse cast ain't that difficult, I've heard all the BS from the so called experts advocating crossing your body so your looking at the point your aiming for. Not happening! It's a contorsion! All the cartoon sketches in the world aren't worth a sook. Get yerself up to an angler that back casts well and ask for some pointers. It's much easier to learn that than getting the other arm to function! The final forward stroke is the same as chucking out a weight on a fixed spool reel, only extend your arm. The rest you know from forward casting. Hope this helps!

It's not a mask, I'm afraid. It's why the Lancsy Lads had a whip round to buy him a float tube.

He'd had a good day when that shot was taken. You should see him when he blanks.

Actually it's Tupps after a face lift carried out in an Eastern block country. The surgeon said the scars will heal and disappear in a few months but he would still continue to blink when he blew his nose.

Hywel Morgan often casts southpore in his TV shows but I think your problem may well be your forehead is generating its own gravity field
