Default sponsorship deals.

There seems to be a conflict of interests in a deal with a youth international team & a fish farming company. It seems to be a catch 22 situation for the lads, no sponsor no fishing. It's not the lads faults, but the team directors who set up the deals, yet again they are in the tricky situation of, no deal no youth team.

I know the damage fish farming causes, but again without the knowledge gathered from said places, how would we go about re-stocking our lochs & rivers with trout. Who should be held accountable for the sponsorship! Surely not the junior angler, who only wants to fish for his or her country.

Eh?

There's a world of difference between an operation that produces trout for stocking fisheries and the destruction of marine environments caused by a commercial salmon farm.

Obviously, I feel for the young anglers but the current sponsorship deal is much like the Policeman's Ball being sponsored by organised crime or turkeys being sponsored by Paxo! Clever move by the Salmon Farmers but naive by the angling association.

I'm well aware there is a thread hidden away in the comp section.

I also understand, how moronic it is of team directors in accepting the sponsorship deal. But if there are no other deals coming forward, what should they do?
Young anglers should not be attacked, for wanting to represent their country.

I started the thread in the competition section to ask the question. The main thread for this topic was this one.

SANA hypocrisy

I don't think anyone was attacking the youth team in the thread. I definately was not, rather I was criticising the powers that be for accepting this money because of the source. SANA made a response about it as well.

Zeolite, i know you weren't attacking the juniors. It was another guy on a thread that was having a dig at them.
