Default Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales

Up in the Yorkshire Dales for a few days R & R with the wife and had a look in Waltons (clothing & fishing gear) in Hawes and the gent in the shop told me about the 15 miles of trout/grayling fishing they have under the HHAAA. Anyone here fish this area and can tell me what it's like? Wouldn't mind popping back at some point and giving it a try, if the fishing is a good as the scenery it would be rude not to give it a go one day

Cheers

Mark

Hi Mark, there was a good Paul Procter article in October's Trout & Salmon all about the Ure around Hawes.

Hi Mark. I did go fishing up at Hawes on Sunday and have to say that it is a great stretch. Despite the river being up and the wind blowing a gale I still managed 2 fish before leaving at lunch. There were 5 of us there and about 15 fish were caught, both grayling and brownies.
Ill definately fish there again but preferably when the weather is a little better and maybe in the trout season.
