Default Fisherys for sale

Leadburn Manor and Rosslyn lee are up for sale,Leadburn probably due to the fact it was aimed at the corporate end and didnt want to entertain bread and butter anglers by being competitive with there prices and competing with the other fisherys for the anglers money,Rosslyn lee i think is up for sale due to ill health, but i think there will be 1 or 2 more fisherys soon to close there doors the way this economic climate is going.

Yes .It get's hard to justify fishing, when the energy/food/fuel bills are taking up so much of your money.
Pubs are already closing in their droves.

Be careful what you wish for mate, Those pellet pig fishermen may just start to clutter up your peaceful lochs if the small stillwaters dry up.

Leadburn manor was always going to struggle imo but surprised at rosslynlee, it has a good name and cracking quality fish, hopefully someone will take it over and keep it going at the standard its at!

More people are going to be cutting back on fishing, fuel costs and everything going up (apart from wages ) is going to take its toll, this could mean folk giving up all together or moving over to cheaper options like rivers/sea/coarse fishing.

This country is fu***d

Obviously never fished Roslynlea Fishery because if he had he would be impressed by the quality of the fish.

I'm Sorry to say Bob,that this commonly held view.is extemely misguided.without the stocked waters your precious wild fisheries would not be able to stand the pressure.and we would go back to the situation where only the well off would be able to afford it.ask our English angling members what it was like before the English reservoirs came onto the angling scene, how much trout fishing was available to the working man then.why do you think coarse fishing was so popular, there was not enough game fishing to go round.I for one,do not want Trout/Salmon fishing to return to the preserve of the rich.

Bang on the button there Jim
Its taken me to the tender age of 56 years of age,to find out fly fishing
is not just for the wealthy, god forbid we ever return to the days when it was
And as to the pellet pig poster, i think you need to experience some of the
well run fisheries, before making such sweeping statements, also some of us are
not so fortunate to have the wonderful wild places to fish as others.
Paul.
