Default Stinking Smelly Net!

What do you do with your net during your day and after to stop it smelling.

Mine stinks!

Always wash it out after catching a fish, when I get home I hang it on the washing rope in my back garden for a day or two in the rain. Works a treat.
Billy.

That's just bragging, cos you've had fish in it.
I just give mine a swish in the river, and shake it dry, it stops most of the smell remaining.

Make sure you dip it after every fish, never had a problem with mine Leaving it on the bank to dry without dipping will make it smell..

It's bacteria that starts to stink, which means you have not washed the net.

If you use your net on more than one fishery it would be best to have a large bucket where it can be dipped in an antibacterial and virucidal solution such as FAM, or Virkon. Your net will no longer smell and will harbour no nasties.

I find it quite evocative to tell you the truth, especially at this end of the year. Hang on while I pop out to the shed and have sniff.............................PJ.
