Default fish bag

Was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction. Im after a bag for transporting fish short distances. We take fish out of the river and up to a hatchery for stripping eggs etc. We had 2bags but both are leaking badly now. Done a bit of searching on google but no joy, anyone have any ideas?

Is there a reason for a bag. Why not a simple dustbin and lid with water. Oh and two good strong lads

Thats a bit extreme and im built like a fly so i wouldn't be able to lift it . Thanks for the input bruce but im ideally looking for a bag as where we will be walking is pretty rough terrain and pretty far away from the tank, il keep on searching

What about large fish carrying boxes as used for transporting large tropical fish? They're just polystyrene boxes with a lid of same that fits in tight and snug. You line the box with a bin bag and fill with water. You would struggle with really large broodstock, but these will carry fish up to 4lb or 5lb, or several smaller fish, for short distances. I use black bin bags so everything goes completely dark for them, and the polystyrene box will muffle sounds and absorb knocks, so it's a nice stress free (if there's such a thing) experience for the fish. And they are cheap. Either check out your Pets At Home store, or similar, they get their fish delivered in these, or log on to some tropical fish forums and you will find someone local who can put you on to them.

Great! never thought of using Tesco/Asda bags. Will put them inside the fish bags we already have to save them getting ripped. Many thanks

The big blue bags you get in Ikea are bigger and stronger than Asda/ Tesco bags .

Tell you what Stephen, they are fantastic bags, the Ikea ones.
Last time I went they were 28p each, so I bought three, went mad I know.
I carry my wet waders in them, and boots, I might be a tackle tart on reels etc but wader bags, Ikea every time, just wish they would do a nice olive green.
