If smaller more focussed set ups are cost effective, have fewer political problems and produce what their members require they are probably better left the way they are. There is nor reason they cannot support other similar bodies in areas where they have the same mutual interests.
SANACC is a competition body, SANA has a much wider remit including competitions. The threads you mention already indicate that some feel SANA is too competition orientated,2) that would not be improved by adding more competitions.

1) I wonder whose fault that was? 2) Do Scottish anglers really want so many competitions spread across two organisations? Surely it would be better with fewer competitions with greater participation.
The respective positions SANA and SANACC find themselves in will have little to do with the much used current economic climate. If you put any funding issues to one side, it is just plain daft to have two such organisations and both sides will be well aware of that.
And as for once being amalgamated, information I'm being fed does not support a historic amalgamation, but smacks more of a bad marriage where both parties were forced to live under the same roof until formal separation then divorce could be effected.
Anyway, I've asked my question and as expected sensible and constructive answers are still awaited.
