Angry Killing an out of season brown trout!

This has been playing on my mind for a couple of weeks now, since we were at Butterstone and an so called angler from a rather well known club killed a 9lb brownie, claiming he didnt know it was out of season, just as well i never seen him Fuc%in bampot should never lift a fly rod again!!! Fair enough if the fish was bleeding badly, but his excuse was(what i was told) he didnt know it was out of season.

ignorance is no excuse in law, and same applies here, if he doesn't know the season he shouldn't be fishing, a p***k in my book

From a well established club and,all seasoned anglers. The rules are quite clear in Scotland 15th March till 6th Oct,with a few earlier dates, but none later than the 6th Oct.
No excuses in my book, two of the most important dates in trout fishing.

I have a question.

I don't target brown trout as a rule and I never kill them as I don't like them to eat (prefer my samlon and seatrout).

My question is........ does the close season apply to stock fisheries as well as the wild ones.

Where brown trout are concerned, yes.

the guy should be named and banned from fishing
i was taught when the season begins and when it ends as soon as i picked up a rod. so for a well established fisherman to take a 9lb brownie out of season is a disgrace
