STORM 2 is on a distinguished road
Default Any Somerset fishers?

Hello,
I was in Cheddar over the weekend and looking into the wee stream running alongside the road in the gorge. There were what looked like trout in there - I could just make out an extra fin on the dorsum. They were up to a pound in size. The strange thing for me was the colour - they looked blue, with largish spots like the brownies. The water was quite filthy and had a lot of rubbish in it so I began to doubt whether they really were trout.
Can any local experts enlighten me?

Yep they are trout, i have seen quite a few trout in there over the years although non as big as a pound in weight, they are very popular with the tourists children who like to feed them bread which they readily accept much like the trout in the small stream that passes under stockbridge high street outside the orvis shop, the water quality is generally good (there is a small reservior just upstream) although i guess the recent poor weather has probably clouded it a bit
