Default Joining Fly lines

Hi All, I'm working on something at the moment and trying to figure out the best way of joining two different lines in various sections. Any ideas??

Best regards

Stuart

You can melt fly line coating using heatshrink and a heatgun or lighter even. The cores could be unpicked and woven together perhaps, or some sort of nail knot - one core, threaded through the other and knotted? Sounds like a bit of a task!

Welded loop creation - might be handy: Welded Loop Creation - update: - Spey Pages

Actually - someone shows welding two lines together here (on the last page of the above link): http://speypages.com/speyclave/showt...t=31079&page=7

slice the 2 lines at opposite angles, use a peice of foam with a slot in it to line up the ends, light smear of bugbond (or similar for all the doubters )to seal, whip over the joint then repeat with bugbond, worked a whole season on a sink tip I made and still no sign of wear

Looks like heat shrink tubing may be the way ahead here.

Thank you for the ideas and help.

Best regards

Stuart
