Default Building towards Wild Wandle Trout

The cool stuff I've been involved with here:
Trout in the Town: Latest TinTT/Wandle Trust Partnership works

...will hopefully mean that genuine self sustaining "stream bred" populations of wild fish can follow on the trail of the "Trout in the Classroom fish". I recently caught some of these Classroom fish as my first trout from the Wandle. It is difficult to overestimate the value that these fish have had in terms of demonstrating that the Wandle has the water quality and quantity to support trout.

Thanks Paul - great blog post!

A real pleasure to get you into your first cheeky-chappie Wandle trout... as you say, it's amazing what those little Trout in the Classroom delinquents have proved by surviving and going on to breed successfully themselves. (And it's amazing what the WTT have done to help us too: advice, training for volunteers, FRM forms, moral support, the lot).

Wild trout on the dry fly in South London - who'd have thought it? Now, onwards and upwards to establishing a proper breeding population!

Great work Paul, it's good to see projects like this really making a difference for the better.

Lovely wee fish too.
