What kind of fishing are you doing?
For the most part, tapered leaders are not entirely necessary, I would personally only use them if fishing a single dry and believe me that aint often.
If you are a beginner as has been suggested, they are pretty good at helping your fly turnover and give better presentation, however if you are fishing stillwaters, a straight through leader is the more popular and much cheaper option.
If you insist on tapered leaders, I agree, don't worry about a fluoro tippet, just use mono or copoly, again cheaper and if in fact you were using TLs to fish a single dry, I certainly wouldn't use fluoro as a tippet as it sinks too fast, dragging down your dry.
