A first for me, but with you on that Bert. I've had the odd 'ok, where the hell is it 'weep-leak' and the 'can you fix it?' ones saw hard river work for at least three years .... then "Puff."
As BK notes, similar with Orvis waders. Sooner or later ... not a 'if but a when?' There may be a problem the owner can't solve with Aquaseal/Shoe Goop/what-ever. And that's where the 'seller' makes Corporate Decisions on just how good do we want our warranty to be?
The Good Guys think Gold Plated; and the GOOD feed back they get on the Internet probably
sells another $100,000 worth of stuff. A 'Ah Shxt, I/we fought, they fluffed me, et. al. probably cost them $200.000 in
potential sales.
In the fishing equipment business, and God knows the world is awash in the stuff,
PERCEPTION is everything if you want to be in 'The Game' and get someone to pull out their credit card.
Numbers/Game works for me.

But what do I know?
