Default What was your most productive fly this season, on small or large stillwaters...

What was the most productive... I would say I've fished a number of comps this year and experimented with blobs for the first time, brought over to the dark side.. But I've always had the following fly trailing the blob and it has done the business on small and large waters alike...

Exclamation Re: What was your most productive fly this season, on small or large stillwaters...

Sorry tried to put a pic of the fly on here but it won't let me upload it... It's a size 10 crow cormorant, pearl body pinch black marabou wing and orange biots for cheeks.. Very simple but effective. Ps if anyone can quickly explain how to get a pic on here I'll fire one up, using an iPhone to access this forum.

Jeb, if you set up a photobucket account (only takes a minute), pull the images from your camera roll using upload at the bottom of the page, once the image is uploaded tap the URLs link below the image and you will get various options for the source code of the image, copy onto your thread the one that starts with [IMG] and it'll show in your posts...hope that makes sense.

Seems that i have most success with either small black gnats or small black and greens like Viva's. I also had results earlier in the year with tiny gold head olives. i'll be trying the fry imitations for a mumber of weeks now that things have cooled off, then i'll be back to black and green on my small still waters i should point out that my local water is floating line and single fly only. which affects my confidence about using buzzers and dawls for some reason

For me it's been PTN's and Soft hackle wets in varying colours.

Olive Damsel nymph on the wet side and a scruffy brown/beige CDC shuttlecock thing on the surface.
