How do you guys fish em? Also why are boobies banned in some places?

Fishing Blobs
Fishing blobs is pretty basic,try hanging them under an indicator at varying depths.
Pulling them back at different speeds and pulls,fish them shallow or deep even pulled through a wave if the waters a bit rough.
Not much different to lures to be honest.

Booby Trout Fly Technique
Use a retrieve, pause, retrieve pause method. On the retrieve the fly sinks but on the pause it floats up because of the buoyant eyes of closed-cell foam. It is an action that is lethally attractive to rainbow trout. Fish them on a fast-sinking line and an ultra short leader. in this way this nymph fly can be presented just above the bottom, where the fish are often lying during early or late season. This buoyancy and the tail give it a tremendous enticing action.

Yes, boobies are banned on some fishery beause the trout often takes the booby down the throat.

<sorry to but in> Can you use shot on the leader to keep the booby down? I ask out of interest because someone told me that, although I don't know what one is ..... Well...OK I do now because I googled it 2 minutes ago

You can of course use a boobie as the point fly on a washing line rig with a few droppers of buzzers or DB's. These are the main fish taking flies, the boobie is mostly there to keep the flies up in the water although it will take the fish as well.

One of my most succesful method for menteith is a booby on the point, blob o the top and a carron rabbit mini cat or something in the middler, on any line you like, if the fish ae hih try a midge tip if not go to intermediates and sinkers, fish them static, slow figure of eight roly polyed really fast anything
