drove 2hrs to esthwaite water yesterday to have a go at pike and do a bit of trout fishing the day ended in a blank.
2 hrs back home couldnt be ar*ed to take my gear out of car.
got up today to sort my gear everything there except my new used only few times platinum xd,remember loading gear away and wrapping it up and placing it in tube then leaning it against a tree while loading other gear first,
yes youve guessed it drove off and left it (am totally gutted)
phoned esthwaite and nothing has been handed in

feel sick now only hope someone has the goodheart to hand it in ,
am not holding my breath though.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. It reminds me of something that happened when I was in the army. We had not been long back from Berlin and were based in Edinbrgh. We went to Galloway forest for a weeks exercise.
So, exercise finished and we packed up and got on the coaches and after arriving back at Edinburgh, 1st thing we normally do is sign our weapons back in. A wee guy who will nameless but was the worst soldier ever had done exactly the same thing but with his weapon.

A quick return to look for the weapon but couldn't be found, eventually a farmer had phoned Army HQ Scotland (who would have been notified by us that a weapon had gone missing) and the weapon was returned. Lucky.

The soldier got a week in the jail and a massive fine.

Anyway, the farmer was decent enough to return the weapon so you never know

I left two Greys rods propped again a steel cabinet on my fishery car park. Fortunately, a member of our club took them home and rang me to identify who's rods they were. What a luck escape I had.

Don,t worry Terry -you are most definitely Not alone on this. Four years ago I took a set of very expensive Donegal Flies along to a stillwater to show friends that I,d won in a comp from TFF worth a £100 and left them on the counter of the tackle shop. Fortunately a sharp-eyed angler had spotted them and asked the owner if he sold those flies. I was most relieved to ring up and find they were still there.

Drove down farm lane to lakes where i fish and picked up a snowbee landing net
left a note and placed it in club house.
apparently he had put it on car roof while packing away.
so hope someone hands your rod in.
