Firstly my apologies if this is in the wrong section, I did look but found this area the most suitable.
I was fishing yesterday and using rio powerflex tippet attached to a 2x tapered leader, and withing 5 minutes (3~4 casts )it started coiling up the tippet.
I had a 9' taper 2x then added a further 11' of rio 5lb 5x, I was using a 7# weight floating line and using the clothes line method hanging 3 buzzers below point fly.
Conditions were just a bit gusty but not bad.
I straightened it out with a leather pad and it just did it again the very next cast
Is my casting doing this ??? no other tippet I have used has done this :/
Or is it because my leader was the wrong size?
